Parallel, SSI Output [EA58 - 63 - 90 - 115]

ABSOLUTE SINGLETURN PARALLEL ENCODER DESCRIPTION

Resolutions available up to 13 bit and 8192 ppr. Wide application range thanks to several models and different flange types. This series assures high reliability even in the most tough industrial applications. It is available with cable connector output and protection class up to IP 66. Gray and binary code output with several electronics available: NPN, NPN OPEN COLLECTOR, PNP, PNP OPEN COLLECTOR and PUSH PULL.

ABSOLUTE SINGLETURN SSI ENCODER DESCRIPTION
This series is designed to satisfy the new serial transmission philosophy of data output. A 13 bit word data is the standard output for these encoders. Meaningful bits are proportionally to the chosen encoder resolution. This type of transmission reduces wiring issues in order to maintain outstanding device performances. Only a four wire connection is needed: a pair for the position code and the other one for the clock signal. Both signals are transmitted by differential logic. In order to satisfy all dimensional requirements, a wide and complete range of mechanical combinations are available.

PROFIBUS output [EA58 - 63 - 90 - 115]


The Eltra singleturn Profibus encoder series (Identification Number 0x0599) is complying to the Profibus DP standard as described on the European Standard EN 50170 Volume 2. Particularly, Eltra Profibus encoders are according to “PROFIBUS-Profile for Encoders, Order No. 3.062”. The Profibus DP interface maintains the same maximum resolution and characteristics (8192 ppr) of the stand-alone version and adds the plus of the Profibus DP network.

Tool change applications [EA 40 T]

Multiturn absolute optical encoders

Parallel, SSI Output [EAM 58 - 63 - 90 - 115]

ABSOLUTE MULTITURN PARALLEL ENCODER DESCRIPTION

This series is designed for application where a very high precision is required, even also on extended linear distances. Resolutions up to 13 bits on the single turn (8192 ppr) and 14 bits as number of revolutions (16384 revolutions) are available. Sturdy mechanic parts and several flanges make this series suitable in such a wide range of applications assuring high performances even in the most tough industrial applications. This series is available with cable or connector output both with Gray or binary code. The PUSH PULL electronic is suitable for all industrial application fields.

ABSOLUTE SINGLETURN SSI ENCODER DESCRIPTION
The absolute multiturn encoder series with SSI output provides data with the same format as previously described for singleturn encoders. Considering the high data volume in multiturn encoders, the serial data transfer is an efficient solution in order to curb the number of wires and the SSI standard is a valuable one. The output data is a 25 bit word and useful bits are proportional to the resolution chosen for the encoder. This transmission standard efficiently reduces wiring issues maintaining the highest level of performances. Similary to singleturn encoders, number of wires for the transmission is 4 (2 for the data and 2 for the clock signal -both are transmitted in differential logic). A wide range of mechanical parts and flanges designed to satisfy different requirements is available.

Linear Potentiometers, Magnetostrictive Transducers
Linear potentiometer transducers assure high reliability even in the heavier environments. Easy installation made easier for the presence of a groove in the housing potentiometer represent an ideal solution for the most used machine of material manufacture, for example injection press for plastic and gum. These devices can be also used in explosive environment in presence of gas and inflammable powders.
ELTRA’s linear transducers are engineered for high accuracy, high cycle-life and easy installation. Standard strokes are from 10 (4/10") mm to 1250 mm (4 ft).
ELTRA’s magnetostrictive transducers provide accurate, non-contact position sensing in a wide range of configurations. Rod style for fi tting within hydraulic pistons or profile housing for a convenient mounting are available. Linear Potentiometers

Linear Potentiometer [EPLA]
EPLA is an absolute linear potentiometer assuring great reliability even in tough applications with heavy vibrations and shocks. The groove on the enclosure of the transducer represents an excellent alternative to the usual system of fastening with brackets. Installation is also made simpler by the absence of variations on the electrical output signal outside of the theoretical electrical stroke. EPLA represents a great solution in most machinery for material processing such as injection presses for plastic, rubber and so on. This transducer is also suitable for being used in explosive environment or in presence of gas or infl ammable powders.

Cylindric Linear Potentiometer [EPLB]

EPLB is an absolute linear potentiometer transducer. Mechanical mounting is made simpler by the presence of two spherical joints on the two sides and by the enclosure’s cylindrical shape. Linear Potentiometer with sensing system [EPLT]

EPLT is an absolute linear potentiometer transducer. This model is characterized by the absence of cursor and the presence of a sensing system, composed by a moving rod, stainless steel sphere mounted on a threaded prod and a spring. This transducer is suitable for applications where short strokes are requested. Moreover, the connector output is disaligned respect to the axis of the device in order to allow the through rod structure and giving greater robustness.The presence of the spring assures an automatic head positioning making this device suitable for being used in precise applications on cams or on product outputs coming from automatic production lines. RH 200 / RL 500 / RM 500 metric wheels are designed for specific industrial applications where is required to measure a linear movement (i.e. continuous sheet cutting machines of wood, textiles, glass, etc.). Precise reading and high stress resistance are the main features of these encoders. The body is entirely designed of aluminium and mounted using an oscillating arm pivoted on the shaft. It comes with an integrated self-lubricating compact box to assure a long operation period without any maintenance. The weight of the metric wheel keeps a stable contact with the material, allowing an accurate measurement of both length and speed. The wheel surface can be in crossed-knurl aluminium, special anti-oil or anti-sliding rubber.
